week 13

For this week I'm gonna talk about some costal hazards but the main one will be coastal erosion. Since I live in a coastal town on the peninsula erosion is something close to home for me. The google definition  of erosion is "the natural geological process where earth materials—soil, rock, or sediment—are worn away and transported by water, wind, or ice" E rosion  is something that is happening here in Monterey  ca. Erosion   is effecting  areas like the Fishermans   wharf, marina state beach the shoreline of the peninsula. This is important to the local in the area because the wharf Is a staple in tourism but most local family's do come to the area to have dinner or just a simple family outings on the weekends. The wharf also attracts people from all the world when they visit. Since the sea levels are rosing in the area the dunes of the peninsula is are expressing rescission rates from 1.0 to 6.0 feet per year. The high storms are causing sea levels to ris...
